Kiss of death

If you want to get hired on at my work, stay the hell away from me. I have recommended six people for jobs here and not one has been picked. Twice, it wasn’t a good match and they shouldn’t have hired my recommendations. Every other time though, they end up hiring some schmuck who doesn’t know his head from a hole in the ground. It’s ridiculous. I’m recommending people apply without putting me on the application because apparently I’m a career death sentence to any resume. Which is strange because I’m very well liked, I do a good job, and I’m consistently praised for my work. It’s not like I’m a slacker and they’re afraid they’re going to get another one. So, lessons learned, don’t use me a reference.

This morning, I saw someone hit a parked car in parking lot of my local megamart. She backed into this car, looked at it, giggled, then sped away. I happened to be parked right across from this and I wrote down her license plate number. I wrote down the license number and returned to the car that was hit. I put a note on the car with the license number along with my information incase there were questions or if he needed a witness.
A short while ago, I got a call from the guy who was hit. He is an FBI agent!!! He said he may need me as a witness, but he and a couple of other agents are going to visit the woman who hit him at her house tonight. How’s that for karma!!!

The Ghost Rider comes...

I saw the trailer on www.apple.com/trailers and thought it didn't look too bad. Yeah, the Ghost Rider looked a little cartoony, but seriously, how would you pull off a serious portrayal of a leather clad biker skeleton with a flaming skull for a head? Seriously. Just explaining it, it sounds cheesy. Some of the imagery was pretty cool though, like when he was riding down the street and everything was melting. That was cool. Of course, I'm thinking that that occurrence has to be something special like he's really pissed or something. If just riding down the street made everything melt every time, after a week there wouldn't be anything left unmelted. Although, they REALLY should have left the super cheesy line with Nic saying "I'm Ghost Rider" out of the trailer and out of the movie. It was so bad that I was actually a little embarrassed for Nic when he said it.

X-Men 3. I just saw this and I’m not entirely sure what to think. There are parts that were great, but there were some questionable parts as well. The new mutants they added were good, but they seemed pointless. Why were they there? They seemed to be there only to say they were. Case in point, Angel. He served no purpose other than to show him for the fans, but not involve him in the story at all. He was not integral to the plot at all. Take him out and replace him with any other mutant and it would work the exact same way. Also, they wussied up Wolverine a bit. Since when did he get all sensitive? Last problem I’ll mention. I’ll try to be vague as not to spoil it for those who haven’t seen it, but did they have to kill her? Couldn’t they have used the cure on her to stop it all?
The good things though were good. It was fun seeing all of the new characters and Kelsey Grammer did a good job as Hank/Beast.

Superman flying

Ain’t it cool has a Coke promo with Superman flying. It looks amazing. I’m so pumped about Superman Returns. I can’t wait for that movie. I’m a huge Superman fan and I’m really excited about what Brian Singer is going to do with it. Check out the clip.

Slither

I saw Slither the other night. Good, fun movie. It’s like an homage to 80’s horror movies. Not the “we’re going to try and give you nightmares” type of movie, but the splatterpunk movies geared toward teenagers. There is a decent plot involved, but it’s loose enough that if your laughing and joking around with friends a little, you’re aren’t going to be completely lost by the end. It’s easy to follow, has decent special effects, and is fun, fun, fun. I really enjoyed it and had a good time watching it. Will I buy it on DVD, probably not? It was fun in the theatre, but I don’t think it has a lot of repeat viewings in its future. Although, it would be a great rental on a stormy night with some friends and some good salty popcorn. If you have the means, I highly recommend seeing it.
