Will they or won't they...

So, the jury did some confusing stuff today. First, the bailiff came out with a message that they are skipping their afternoon break in order to push through on an issue. This was at around 2:30 pm, by the way. He didn't say if it was the last issue or what.

So, then at about 3:20 pm today, the jury announced that they are calling it a night and going home. This is a little odd because they normally work until 5, at least. There is an odd contributing factor though. The alternate jurors were released at around 3 pm today.

So, the theory is that the jury has come to a decision, but doesn't want to actually give the verdict until the alternates are there as well. The whole jury has grown close in the 3 and 1/2 months that this trial has taken, so we think they might want everyone there when they read it.

We're somewhat expecting a verdict first thing tomorrow morning. Wish us luck! I'll post the results.
