The Hobbit goes down

Well, according to MSNBC, Peter Jackson will not be making the movie version of The Hobbit. It is a sad day. I'm sure whomever does make the movie will do an ok job of it, but I doubt it will fit seamlessly with the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which is what I was hoping would happen. Apparently not. It's a sad day.
