Family money troubles
So, here is a quick story about my father in law. His two natural children can only be described as monetary leeches. My wife is his adopted daughter, by the way. So, his natural kids are constantly asking for money. In the latest instance, they asked for $6000 as a “temporary loan” so they can have some money in their savings account, in order for them to get a loan to update their house. They were unable to get a conventional loan due to having no money at all. It truly does take money to get money. Anyway, they asked for this money as a loan that they would quickly pay back as soon as they received the loan. Well, they got their loan…over seven months ago. No attempt at repaying the $6000 that was just “in holding” has been made. Ok, so this past weekend, she wants to come and visit her father for his birthday. He was happy as his natural children scarcely ever want to see him without some ulterior motive (asking for money). My father in law’s daughter is a travel agent and books all of her father’s flights. For this, she has his credit card numbers in her system so he doesn’t have to give them every time he flies. So, for this surprise birthday visit, she books the tickets for her family of four on his credit card. Happy birthday, right? Since this was a surprise trip, the tickets were only bought a week or so before the trip. Anyone who’s ever flown knows that the closer to the flight time you buy the tickets, the more expensive they get. So, she ended up spending $4000 to fly up to visit him. So, it was a great happy birthday with him now $10,000 in the hole. Good times.
What she should have done is gone to this website and checked out a payday loan. That’s what she should have done. I’m sure my father in law thinks so too.
